Ben Christey-Clover has been a PGA qualified Professional for over 13 years, having passed all his examinations aged 20. He has managed various golf clubs and teaching academies throughout the south east of England and continues to enhance his knowledge of the game by attending golf teaching seminars. Ben has also competed in many pro events throughout Europe including a recent stint playing on the European Players Development Tour.

Ben and his wife Loretta moved to Spain 3 years ago and immediately spotted the lack of teaching facilities in the North Costa Blanca area. As a professional interested in teaching services Ben's aim was to set up a facility to encourage juniors into golf. He felt that without an opportunity like this many kids would not ever find their way into the game. Many devotees have admitted that if it wasn't for the Javea school of golf they would never have entertained the game. The facility is not just for juniors though' Ben and Loretta encourage golfers of all ages to become involved.

From this, a very unique golf coaching facility has been setup. Ben and Loretta wanted to be able to offer everyone the chance to learn the game of golf without concerns about the high costs associated with equipment, coaching and membership fees. The School of Golf allows kids and adults the opportunity to learn in a fun, relaxed environment with all equipment provided.

Ben and Loretta studied various courses and driving ranges before deciding how to set out the School of Golf and as a result are developing together a teaching facility that they feel will cover every facet of the game, from the basic putting, chipping and full swing to bunker play, rule and etiquette. This allows individuals the chance to learn and prepare themselves for the golf course and to improve on their personal game.

The School of Golf is coming to the end of its first full year and has made great strides in teaching juniors the game of golf. Ben and Loretta at the School of Golf have created an environment where youngsters can learn to play golf in a safe, fun and interesting atmosphere. Their success can be easily measured by the enthusiasm of the 70 or so juniors that attend for weekly lessons.

At the end of 2005 almost one hundred certificates, medals and trophies for skills, achievement and improvement were awarded as well as sixteen perpetual trophies. The prize giving took place at Oliva Nova Golf and went on late into the evening with over 60 children and 100 adults in attendance.

Ben and Loretta are always on the look out for new students and would like to encourage everyone to come and have a go at golf. They provide all the equipment needed to learn and clubs, balls and tees for tournament play. All juniors require is a pair of trainers and some comfortable clothes.
